MISSION STATEMENT
NAIW serves it members by providing professional education, an environment
in which to build business alliances and the opportunity to make connections
with people of differing career paths and levels of experience in the
insurance industry.
OHIO COUNCIL OF NAIW
The Ohio Council of NAIW was organized in 1982. Over 450 insurance professionals
are members of the 15 local associations in Ohio. Ohio is part of NAIW
Region IV, which is comprised of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky.
The Ohio Council of NAIW conducts two meetings a year.
• Ohio Council NAIW Legislative Day and Annual Meeting –
This meeting is held in the fall and is when election of officers, business
meeting and legislative speaker takes place. This is also the site for
the State "Communicate With Confidence Speak Off", an annual
NAIW speech competition. The winner competes at the regional conference
in the spring.
• State Education Day – This meeting is held in the late
spring with the focus being on educating our members, networking and
conducting necessary business.
Associations in Ohio bid on the opportunity to host each of these meetings.
A Friday night hospitality room provides opportunities for networking
and fellowship. Saturday morning sessions feature a program of interest
and diversity to the membership with a council business meeting held
in the afternoon. Continuing Education credits are frequently available
during the meetings.
NAIW
The National Association of Insurance Women International (NAIW) is
an association of insurance professionals (men and women) dedicated
to the development of leaders in the insurance industry. Serving is
membership since 1940, there are currently over 13,000 members belonging
to local associations across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico,
and other countries. NAIW has an active membership representing every
facet of the insurance industry including property/casualty, life, health,
disability, risk management, insurance benefits and insurance educators.
On a national level, NAIW is built on a system of Advisory and Task
Force Panels that link the association's day-to-day activities with
the real world of its members. Panels represent, involve, and serve
members, as well as provide an important training ground for future
leaders. Panels are an effective way to accomplish many things during
the year. They are the Think Tank of this association. Effective panels
unify, represent, motivate, coordinate, consolidate, and communicate
well. They function extremely well because of member participation,
a defined mission and strong leadership. Advisory and Task Force Panels
include: Membership, Education, Leadership, Partnership, Technology,
Today's Insurance Professional, and Non Dues Revenue.
NAIW headquarters are located in Tulsa, OK. Visit our national web site
at www.naiw.org for
complete information.
